Installation of foundations for a sound barrier fence around the Atco Gas facility in Calgary, AB.
Atco GAS chose Postech to install the foundations of a sound barrier fence at its facility in Calgary, AB. The project required a very tight schedule to complete the project after the work was awarded, but our teams were ready for it.
Ready to start working! As seen on this picture, the construction site had a lot of pipelines like the one shown on the back.
Work was well under way for the team!
To insure frost coverage in a region like this one, piles needed to be installed at least 6’ under the ground. Postech Calgary was finally able to install the piles approximately 8’ to 8.5’ under ground and still achieving a 12 000 lbs torque.
Almost done! Due to the grade of the site, the finished height of the piles on the east side was a 1 ½’ above the ground, which made welding the pile caps a very easy task. The west side of the site finished height of the piles was about 6’’ below grade, requiring our teams to dig with the mini excavator to make a big enough work area for the welder to cut the piles and weld on the 11" X 12" custom-made pile caps.
This was a great job to do! Great soil conditions allowed Postech Calgary to install and cap all the piles in 2 days. The pre-fab fence panels also fit very well onto the piles and, to top it all, client was very happy with our work. What more could we ask for?
